New slimline profile delivers improved thermal properties

Fenestration expert Britplas has launched a new slimline aluminium profile version of its award-winning Safevent window system.

The new profile offers neater sightlines, whilst maintaining outstanding strength and durability. Always at the forefront of design innovations, the team at Britplas has developed a unique double-thermal-break design for the new version window which ensures improved thermal properties, taking U-values below 1.9W/m²k.

The new design also means that even move natural ventilation passes in through the mesh of the window when open (while maintaining a high level of security) and less heat is lost out of the window when closed.

Safevent’s new aluminium profile has helped the company to achieve a record breaking first quarter in 2011, building on last year’s exceptional performance where Britplas almost doubled its revenues from 2009.

The company’s unique window system was developed to address issues arising when trying to create a safe environment for patients in secure mental health units. However Safevent windows have many other benefits and are now also being specified by the majority of NHS Trusts and many private healthcare groups for their environmental and cost-saving benefits as the windows allows for maximum natural ventilation, thereby reducing monetary and environmental costs.

The anti ligature Safevent window comprises a double fronted window and a free sliding internal or external sash. The window has one glazed area and the other is fitted with a stainless steel mesh. From within the mesh is almost invisible so delivers security in a sensitive and subtle manner.

The windows are manufactured to an exceptionally high standard and every component can withstand considerable force. All Safevent windows are installed by their own Britplas fitting crews and the window is available in aluminium or uPVC and units can be manufactured in any RAL colour. Manual, mechanical and automatic electronic versions are available.
